“Hi, I’m Peaches (formerly known as Ramona), and I am a 3-legged pitbull mix who is very fortunate to survive a gunshot wound and being left tied to a pole on the streets of Philadelphia, alone and in pain. But I’m grateful to have only lost my one leg instead of my life!
I was brought to Philly ACCT and now, thanks to AmsterDog, I am fully recovered from my amputation surgery. As you can see from my albums, I am enjoying each day of life and all it has to offer.
In fact, don’t let my one missing leg fool you – I am able to do *everything* I was able to do before and am a very active girl who appreciates all that life has to offer. They even call me “Peaches the Wonder Dog”!
But, sadly, I cannot stay with my foster family any longer due to there being five other dogs here, plus neighboring female alpha dogs that make me nervous and uneasy.
I get along *fantastically* with male dogs – not so much with alpha females as they are intimidating to me. I love kids and even cats (although if they run, I do like to chase them since that seems like a fun game to me!). I will do best in a nurturing home where my new family can be patient with me while I acclimate to my new surroundings and two- and four-legged family members. In fact, I prefer to be in the company of others as it’s comforting to me and makes me feel safe and loved.
Everyone who meets me says I’m loving and affectionate, very obedient (I respond super well to voice commands), and of course house-trained! I’m told that I am a great pet and ‘simply a gem!’
Won’t you please ask to meet me and let me show off for you how special and appreciative I am? I promise, you’ll be impressed with all I can do and I promise to cherish you forever for giving me a forever home and showing me what it’s like to be loved and cared for, instead of hurt and abandoned.”
Love, licks, and kisses,
