Help Us Help 3 Dogs from the Chernobyl Region!
AmsterDog is pleased to announce that we have been asked to participate in a very special endeavor to help three dogs who live outside in the Chernobyl region of the Ukraine. Hasya, Malysh, and Barsik are just three dogs of many who live outside, year-round, in the harsh climate of Slavutych, Ukraine and have never known life as a "family pet".
There are presently over 400 dogs living outside in the Chernobyl region, plus another large group living outdoors in Slavutych - the town built for the plant workers outside the exclusion zone - that are being cared for by a handful of volunteers. These 3 dogs in particular are social, happy, and healthy....and they want to be with people. But, they have never lived in a safe, warm home. They will not live long lives there, but they can live long lives here.
And so, this holiday season, AmsterDog is thrilled to help Hasya, Malysh and Barsik to realize a dream they never even knew possible - to have a safe, loving home and to be indoors and warm, year-round.
You, too, can help make this endeavor happen. If you would like to contribute by donating any amount - large or small - that will help with the anticipated costs upon their arrival for basic training (they only know Russian!), transportation, and other related expenses. We are also looking for experienced and committed fosters to help them transition into their new lives in the USA as we work toward finding them their forever homes. If you are interested in fostering, please complete our application.
Stay tuned for more information on Hasya, Malysh, and Barsik!
